Flooring Trends for 2025: Home Flooring Interior Design Inspiration
Flooring is an investment in your home. You may find yourself considering compromising on professional installation or selecting budget options to save costs but the reality is that cheap and poorly installed flooring will cost you more in the long run with replacements and cover-ups. Quality flooring does not have to break the bank. Hamilton Flooring works with a number of the leading industry brands and provides a huge selection of products to suit all tastes and budgets. Choosing the right flooring will not only create the living space you desire but selecting a quality and hardwearing floor will mean that you get potentially decades of enjoyment out of your flooring before it needs replacing. At a time where sustainability is more important than ever, ‘throwaway’ or ‘disposable’ flooring is not a great option. With this said, this article is looking at the flooring trends set to prevail in 2025. You might ask yourself why we are talking about ‘trends’ and also talking about flooring longevity at the same time. We have noticed that the ‘trends’ that are appearing for 2025 are not (although there are some) flash-in-the-pan ‘fashionable’ interior design fads. All the flooring trends we mention in this article have the benefit of being modern adaptations of classic styles or timeless designs that will work with future trends and concepts.
Amtico Signature: Manor Oak
2025 interior design trends predict a continued move toward natural textures, wide or long planks and tiles, bold and geometric patterns and warm tones. Comforting, timeless yet modern and warm are the dominant terms we are seeing. Large format flooring in particular is having its moment and has been creeping into the limelight over the past couple of years but 2025 will see wide and oversized tile and planks in centre stage. Rich, earthy and warm colour palettes will also be very popular going forward. It should be stated that the light, ashy colour tones that have been rising in popularity over the past decade (building from the stratospheric rise of the ‘Millennial Grey style trend of the early 2010’s which is just now beginning to feel outdated). Scandi, minimalist, coastal and bright/airy calming styles have jumped off of the millennial grey and will still very much remain in style and will maintain favour for some time but 2025 will see the rise in maximalism, boldness, colour drenching and ‘dopamine interiors’ (joyful, playful and often quirky). With these decorating and interior styles growing in popularity we see statement flooring and impactful designs leading the way. In the past, it has been a bit of an oversight to decorate and design your home around what will help (or prevent) your home from selling in the future. People would appear to be moving more towards creating spaces they want to live in rather than being concerned about resale value or the issues of potential buyers being ‘put off’ by anything that isn’t a blank slate.
So, as we would always advise…choose flooring based on the environment you want to live in and your own personal style rather than following trends - but if you are looking to get inspiration or are looking for the perfect ‘foundation’ for the interior of your dreams, look no further than our overview of the predicted 2025 flooring trends.
Earth Toned Wood: Flooring Trend for 2025
We are seeing a departure from greys and whitewashed flooring as well as lighter wood tones in favour of natural earthy woods and warmer browns and walnut tones. Not only this but wood effect flooring is highlighting texture, tone and the natural patterns of wood.
Honey tones, walnut and deep rich colourways are set to dominate favour in 2025. Traditional wood tones are making a resurgence and are styled paired with soft textural furnishing and a warm cosy ambiance.

The serenity of white and ash toned wood effect flooring will remain popular and caters to prominent interior styles but mid-toned browns in classic and natural hues are making a huge comeback. Speaking of classic styles, Parquet laying patterns are having a moment with modern twists on the classic parquet and herringbone styles created with larger scale planks to create a contemporary feel.
Bold Wood and Tile: Flooring Trends for 2025
Neutral tones have dominated flooring choices for a long time but in 2025 flooring is going bold with dark woods, rich tiles and striking stone effect flooring. This boldness lends to an edgy design and can add drama to daring interiors or add an interesting contrast to more neutral spaces.

Bold flooring can make a statement and create a focal point to a space as well as visually adjusting your perception of space through the use of pattern and contrast. A trend within a trend is that of geometric patterns…
Geometric Patterns: Flooring Trends for 2025
Geometric designs and laying patterns are featuring heavily in 2025 interior design trends with chevron floors and patterned tiles growing in popularity. Geometric flooring adds depth and texture and is especially popular in hallways and as focal pieces of wider flooring designs. Flooring patterns like herringbone and chevron parquet have origins in the 16th century so it is a comfort to know that these styles have longevity!

Mixed Materials: Flooring Trends for 2025
An interesting trend for 2025 is mixed mediums with different materials being paired together to add visual interest and texture. Consider, perhaps, the combination of earthy toned wood effect flooring set off against a complexly textured stone effect tile. The combining of materials can make a space feel visually more expansive as well as creating designated areas in larger more open-plan living spaces. Mixed media flooring is a really sophisticated approach to utilising the trends of 2025 in a unique and interesting way and allows you to perfectly capture the personality of your living space.
Bigger is (Sometimes) Better: Flooring Trends for 2025
The beauty of large tile and plank flooring lies in its ability to create a seamless and expansive look. The larger size of the tiles or planks can visually open up a space, making it appear more spacious and grand. This flooring option is perfect for those who want to make a statement with their interior design. We have talked about this trend's rise in an earlier blog - Style Trend: Large Tile and Plank Flooring - and foresee it being hugely popular both in homes and in commercial spaces.
